As it turns out mid summer really is not the best boat
building weather. But it is the absolute best catamaran sailing weather.
Gusty winds lots of heat and time at the beach. Yeah!As usual boats
really help display my ignorance. Ok I have been sail for years. Big no
problem rigging this one. Launching was a breeze. Hopped on and a way we
go. Ok now a quick tack to get back. Like I said and now a quick
tack to get back. HEY wait a minute. why won't this stupid boat tack?
Yikes!
Well we finally made it back. A quick trip to the library. (pre
internet days) to find out how to sail catamarans. Scientia Est Potentia.
After a very short learning curve we were as psycho as the other cat goofs
at the beach.
Compared to a Hobie this baby was a
Lethargic Slug but compared to a monohull it was a rocketship. A good
time was had by all for a couple of years. But then it was on to TNB.
